Since 2019, the Neuroblastoma Australia Scientific Advisory Board has awarded $1.95 million in research grants.  You can see some of the grants in our current projects area.

With the advice of our Scientific Advisory Board, Neuroblastoma Australia is able to fund a range of innovative research projects. These projects are often pre-clinical research and the funding provides innovative ideas to be developed and tested further.

Every two to three years, depending on fundraising success, we seek grant applications from scientists who are passionate about finding kinder and more effective treatments for children diagnosed with neuroblastoma childhood cancer, and our world-class SAB carefully review the most promising applications with a panel of other subject matter experts from all over the world.

2026 Grant Round is underway

In 2026 we are focusing in on the area of Immunotherapy in 2026 as this is a key research area holding enormous promise for children with cancer.

Researchers keen to explore innovative ideas in this area were invited to send a Letter of Intent (LOI) by 30th April

Successful applicants have been invited 8 June to submit a full proposal.

2024 Grant Round Winners

We were thrilled to receive an unprecedented number of excellent applications from around Australia.

Research Supported to Date

In recent years Neuroblastoma Australia has supported various research projects with Children’s Cancer Institute, The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, UNSW Sydney and Sydney Children’s Hospital, and Cancer Council NSW.

To date Neuroblastoma Australia has funded more than $4 million into neuroblastoma research thanks to the generous support of the community. The 2022 funding round grant pool was $350,000 which we spilt equally between two projects.

Our expert Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) will independently review all research proposals and score them against our Assessment Matrix Proposals and they will be sent to specific specialists as required to also review and provide additional recommendations. Neuroblastoma Australia SAB will review all recommendations to determine which studies will be funded.
