Associate Professor UNSW and Group Leader – Gene Dysregulation Group at the Children’s Cancer Institute, Randwick.
Associate Professor Tao Liu’s project High-risk neuroblastoma cases with TERT oncogene rearrangement was one of two major research projects awarded $125,000 in funding by Neuroblastoma Australia for 2020.
Having made significant progress with the project during the intervening period, Associate Professor Liu was awarded a further $125,000 which will support this project through to 2024.
Children who have neuroblastoma and have the TERT gene within their cancer, often have a poorer prognosis which is why this research is so important.
